Week 7: Farewell Beijing and Reflection

My internship at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in Beijing China Summer 2015 helped me to significantly enhance my academic and professional working experience. I was able to apply theories and concepts which I was educated at school to the real circumstances. Also, I gained more practical experience, strengthen my networking and social skills, and reinforce my knowledge about accounting and international business. Moreover, interning in Beijing was an incredible opportunity to learn the Chinese work ethic and culture as well as the importance of Chinese language. I strongly believe that I learned during the trip to China will highly beneficial for my long-term career path.

Thank you, China for welcoming me and teaching me many valuable lessons. Hopefully, I will be able to come back to this land in the near future.

Week 5: Wangfujing Market

Wangfujing snack market – just 2 minutes walking from my office. This is the place where people selling Chinese delicacies such as fried scorpion, starfish, or mouse!!!

Week 4: Beijing National Stadium (the Bird’s Nest)

Beijing National Station (also known as the Bird’s Nest). The stadium locates in the North of Beijing. It was built for Olympics 2008 in Beijing. This is also one of the top tourist destination in Beijing

Week 4: An exceptionally beautiful day in Beijing

The air quality in Bejing has been pretty bad since I came. But this week Beijing has a very clean and beautiful day. The air quality index is around 20. Here are some pictures taken during the day

Week 3: Shanghai Trip

On the next day, I went to the Bund – one of the most tourist destinations in Shanghai. From here, you will have a good view to the central business district where all the spectacular and tallest skyscrapers locate

I also went to the top floor (skywalk) of Shanghai World Financial Tower – the second highest building in Shanghai. This is the view of Shanghai from skywalk

Week 3: Shanghai Trip

The traditional Dragon Boat Festival in Beijing this year is from Sat 20 – Mon 22 so everybody had a 3-day weekend. I and 5 other friends decided take a trip to Shanghai. We arrived in Shanghai in the late afternoon and were all amazed by the number of skyscrapers in this city. Shanghai is more modern and Western comparing to Beijing
